STRICTLY COME CHRISTMAS FANCY DRESS

         DRESSAGE TO MUSIC

Mince Pie or festive treat for all entries.
What to do

1- Pick a floor plan

Into C and Prelim 2 - must also include a 20 meter trot circle allowing the horse to stretch, you can include this anywhere in the test.

Novice 24 - this test contains non required movements, you may choose not to do them but if you do it will gain you extra technical marks.

Or you could make your own floor plan but this must include all the required movements of the level and be no longer than 5 minutes.

Please refer to British Dressage Freestyle to Music test sheets, you can download these from the BD website under Dressage to Music section or see below.

2 - Music

This can be anything you wish but must have a Christmas connection. You can use one track or mix a few.  It will be judged on the whole theme, not foot falls to the music, so anything goes!

3- Choose a costume to theme with your music

The sky’s the limit anything you want but must involve tinsel. (You may also wear smart riding wear + tinsel but there will be a prize for the best fancy dress)

4- Practice in the costume (always a good plan)

5- Come to Mount Offham on the 2nd December and have fun

June Long will be there to help you warm up and give you a few tips before you ride your routine.

Rosettes for all who take part
There will be a prize for the best Fancy Dress.

This is the ideal chance to have a bit of fun without the pressure of a competition. Lots of you have asked for this in the past so please support us

There are some free software downloads available on the internet for music editing if you don't already have something suitable to use so that you can combine the different pieces of music for your test if you want to.  Please bring your music on a CD for the test.

Please note that all tests will be performed in a 40x20 arena which is different to the BD tests for Preliminary and Novice and time limits have been adjusted accordingly.

Normal dressage rules will apply but you do not need to wear full show gear, however, please dress smartly.

Hard hats must be worn at all times when mounted even if you are in costume.  Since this is a Christmas themed event tinsel should be worn if possible!

Please choose from the following levels and indicate on your booking form which level you are going to ride at.
