Summer Camp 2020
Thursday 30th July to Monday 3rd August - Cancelled
Sadly we have had to make the decision to cancel this year's Summer Camp. Whilst we had hoped to be able to run it, after waiting for the latest updates from the Government, we felt that the restrictions needed to be put in place to safeguard everyone would have impacted too much on the enjoyment of the camp. We therefore have reluctantly decided to cancel the camp for this year.
The chance to spend a few days away with your horse in lovely surroundings and like minded people. This is a friendly camp so if you are coming on your own then don’t worry, we want everyone to enjoy themselves and you can do as much or as little as you want to.
The facilities at Plumpton College are excellent, there are two indoor schools, an outdoor school, show jumping paddock plus a track round the college farm to ride round if you want something a little more peaceful. On top of all that there are the beautiful South Downs just across the road from the college with miles of fantastic countryside to ride over.
For the rider, accommodation is in single rooms, three meals a day are included, breakfast and dinner are in the college dining room which offers excellent food and a packed lunch will be provided so that you can spend the time wherever you prefer or share it with your horse if you want to.
Your horse will stay in the American barn which offers comfortable stabling, please note that all beds are now straw, if you require a shavings bed the college have implemented a charge (amount to be confirmed) unfortunately this is out of our control. You will be able to buy hay from the college if you want to or can take your own with you. There is no turnout available but places you can take your horse to graze in hand.
Arrival is on Thursday afternoon to give you the chance to settle both you and your horse in and try out any of the facilities if you want to. There is a common room in the stable block which is a nice place to meet up and also to spend the evenings once the horses have gone to bed.
Once again we have the fabulous instructors Suzanne Halsey and Amelia Wilbourne who know how to make sure everyone gets the most out of their lessons and have a fantastic time in the process.
The camp ends late Monday morning, by which time most people, and horses, will probably be in need of a good rest!
Costs to be confirmed.
The price includes 4 nights stabling for your horse, accommodation with 3 meals a day for you, 3 hours instruction and use of the facilities for the duration of your stay. Priority will be given to Hadlow Riding Club members if the camp is oversubscribed. Adults only.
